Default pickling lime

I was woundering when mixing some mrs wages. How do you know with out testing the water that the pickling lime is in deed desolving? What made me wounder was that everytime i mix it, it seems like what ever i mix into the water ends up on the bottom of the container. I guess i will have to waste a test on it and find out lol. I was just thinking and was woundering if maybe someone else has had the same thought but probly not lol.

It settle out at the bottom of the container and the pH should be around 10 to 12 if how I tell if it's good. Don't know how you are mixing it but I run a reactor and turn the pump on twice a day to mix and then let it settle for about 2 hrs before I turn it back on for makeup water.

Just make sure when you are mixing it that you don't splash the water around. CO2 will destroy the kalk so do a real light and slow stir.
