I had the same problem. My tank is downstairs and around the corner from the heater. No matter how much soda I added I could never keep my PH above 8. Then I read a post by tangster to help someone else about PH and I added a line on the skimmer to the outside.

You know I wish I read these thread a couple years back when I had my 20 long going. I had constant pH issues with that tank. Although I think nanos are prone to that a bit, I realize now that it was right near my gas heater vent in my floor... drat!

Great thread.

Well I just got done running a line outside of the house to hook up to the skimmer air inlet, hope this helps somewhat.

Might be able to put it in the garage, Mommy pulls in and out everyday so the air should be good. Will work on that...thanks Reef_guru

She never lets the car run in the garage as it is under the house so she just starts and pulls out. The tank is in the basement with the only way out is the garage or go up stairs so there is not window to use. I will work on some way of getting air in the fish room if I have to pump cold air in.
