 kalkwasser being used

If you meters good , the one thing that spike PH,ANd KH is kalkwasser if you add it to fast or if you don't let it sit 24 hours and siphon off the klear liquid the white powder will really spike the kh and the ph.
most like killing alot. another is adding to much buffer to fast, something like baking soda can wreck your ph if not done very carefully in small increments.

PS never add buffers without at least checking kh new tanks don't need as much. high PH and KH can lead to a precip event and you'll lose alot of the CA and some mag. been there done that.
