Default Milwaukee Ph Monitor

I bought a MIlwaukee PH Monitor (Model SMS 120) yesturday and went to set it up this morning however i have a ? for those with this. The directions say to use a packet of PH 4 however mine came with a packet of 7.1.

Will these work the same just with higher readings on the 7.1?

also

If i read the front of the packet right the PH reading depends on the temp the packet is kept at am i right on this and if so do i just calibrate it to read what it should for the temp of my room.

Any help is appreciated.

I dont have a Milwaukee PH Monitor, but I do have a Pinpoint PH monitor. Did the monitor come with two calibrating fluids, or just one? Mine came with two fluids, but theres three in total that can be used(4.00, 7.00 and 10.0) I dont know if all the PHM are the same, but I would have to say that it should come with two fluids. The Pinpoint states that you can use any two of the three to calibrate the unit. Hope this has helped, Luna.

Then just follow the instructions and test it out. If you have a PH tester, compare the two readings(PHM and the manual tester) to see if the PHM was calibrated correctly. Also keep in mind that these units state that every so often, they should be re-calibrate for accuracy.
BTW, Happy B-Day. there was a thread started yesterday for your B-day.

I have set a Milwaukee up before and you can use the 7.0 and 10.0 fluids. Next time you buy fluids I would get the 4.0 so it can create a better range in the controller but it really doesn't matter which ones you use. Take the packets and float them in your sump for about an hour before you do the calb so that you know what the temp is.
Just always remember to never let the end of the probe to dry out or it will be useless.
