For 25 gallons you'll need to add 50 grams according to the instructions.

It should be fine if you drip it. I used to do that with a 5 gallon container and kent marine float valve.

Once a day or so I'd stir it up a bit. And periodically clean the float. I did it for 3 years without problems.

Yeah that's cool. Put it in, stir it up, let it settle a bit and start your drip.

No prob. My only concern is that your drum is big at 25 gallons and if your evap isn't that fast your kalk could go stale (turn yellow). How big is your tank?

Well it sounds like you'll have to experiment a bit to find the optimum amount. Just stir it up from time to time and watch for the yellowing. Honestly I am not sure what affect it has when it goes yellow, but I've always assumed it was not ideal.

Author Eric Borneman says that kalkwasser should be used the day it was made due to its instability. When I dose with Kalkwasser, I make a batch and use it that day. I'm not a professional though! You will have to experiment with it.
