I just noticed that my fresh water contains that I use to store the ro water has started to get some green algae inside the container( I store them outside but in the shade). Should I be worried about this? Could this algae infested water result bad for my water chemistry? | I believe that outdoor algae growth is likely to occur whenever there is a constant source of moisture -- it can't dry out because it's always in the shade. Kind of like a terarium (sp?). Personally, I would buy new containers, try to keep an inch or two of water in them at all times, and store them in the garage. _________ Linda 29g Nano 2 FSL 8000k 36w & 2 AquaLux 36w Blue Pump: 1200 LPH; Maxi-Jet 600 Powerhead 100w Visi Stealth submersible heater 15 lbs. live rock 20 lbs. live sand LIVESTOCK: 1 cleaner shrimp; Asst. snails, 1 emerald crab, Pierre the Cleaner Shrimp and acrobat extraordinnaire, 1 button polyp, 1 green star polyp, 1 red mushroom, 1 Xenia, 1 octopus coral, 1 torch, 1 frogspawn, 1 tree coral, 1 stag coral. | Do you ever test your make up water for PO'4s or NO3's ? To clean the jugs I'd Just pour some bleach into them and fill with water and let them set.. Like Linda said all algae needs is some moisture and light of a cool K value like the sun and away it goes. _________ Some of the world's greatest feats were accomplished by people not smart enough to know they were impossible (Doug Larson) |

| I've tested the ro water for chlorine but thats all. I've tested my tank water for po4 and no3 before and zero on those results. |
