Question How often do you check your water, be honest

How often do you check your water? I check Calcium and Alk twice a month, the same time I swap out my carbon. I check the nitrates a few times a month with those quick dip strips but I don't really trust them because I have a feeling that if they dry out too much they quit working. I use a regular test kit once a month for peace of mind. I haven't checked Strontium in a while, I think my water changes take care of this and the mag. At least I have only had to dose it once.

Always Salifert test kits.

for me its been once a week, for nitrates and ammonia. thats cause ive been adding new live rock, and playing with the sand. And i just started dosing ca and mag. so im trying to stay on top of that. i keep a log just to keep track. But ive been paranoid latley because all my dosing and test kits are all in the metric system. and im not used to it. lol.

My tank is relatively new so I was checking every day. But the changes were so slow, I tapered off to once a week now. The cycle seems to be over, so now I will try and build up Ca and get that stable.

Calcium once a week, kh daily. Nitrate pointless, never any nitrate, waste of a test. Ammonia, nitrite almost never had the Ammonia badge from Seachem had to put it in my Midas tank to make sure it still worked. I bought a Iodine test and found out I was overdosing that so I test that like twice a month.
