| I dose when needed... never without testing. I dose seachem and use the seachem test kit also. I keep it at 0.06 wich is supposed to be the ocean iodine level.

| There is no sound reason to dose Iodine. Then there is the reliably of the test kits. There are only two in the world, both made by aquarium companies, so what doe that tell you. If you were into Marco's OK maybe

| Well that answers my question Boomer. I need a professional grade kit for my work (one of the worlds largest phytoplankton producers) for our macro system. So just the Seachem and Salifert are my choices, and Salifert is easier to read then Seachem? Are they even accurate enough for me? I'm not talking a little reef tank, I'm talking closer to 1.5 million gallons at our facility

I would stick with the Salifert but I think either are close enough. Do you have the newer Salifert that tests for iodide, iodate or molecular iodine ?
When you can test a sample and bring a sample to a real lab to see what you have or send it here. * ENC Labs - Chemical Analysis and Consulting
I forgot Someone said they are using Purple-Up be carefull with this stuff. |

I forgot Someone said they are using Purple-Up be carefull with this stuff. | We have a few labs we use all ready, but we'd like to do it in house. We've got a few labs on site, just no iodine test kit I'll pick up a new Salifert tomorrow. Thanks for the lab link though, it's nice to have back-ups Know any good guaranteed analysis labs I'd love to have back ups for the three I use all ready |

| The one I posted is a leader in the field. It is not a hobby lab for reef tanks Seawater is their specialty. |
