Default DKH readings and hair algae

what is an acceptable range reading on DKH, i have gotten different ranges from different test kits and books. one said 9-12 another 7-10, i think i even saw one that said 11-13. as of my last test i was reading 11.3. and i still have GHA problem. and i was told by someone on here that raising the dkh and it helps kill the algae, but that didnt work. all my other readings are good 1250 mg, 400 ca, 0 phosate, 0 NO3, 0 am, sep gra 1.023-1.025 and average temp 78.8

i guess this was a two part post

8-12 is acceptable, you need to check phosphates to address your GHA problem

I keep my DKH between 10-13. Mag seems a little low(1350-1500), everything else looks good. Another element that ppl seem to forget is silicates.

silicates
Silicates typically enter your water through low-quality sand and rocks, or unfiltered tap water. Silicates are a food source for algae and a high silicate concentration can lead to algal bloom.

Cut back on feeding, cut back on lighting, raise your Mag to 1500ppm and your ph to 8.4-8.6. Where are you getting your top-off water from? Luna

its was for phosates. silicates uhhh i will test for those, i didnt even think of that. i know my ph is 8.4, and i have been adding b-ionic which as mg, i also havnt test my mg in a couple of weeks. i did cut back on my feeding because i think was over feeding now they get fed every other day.
i have to top off the water?? j/k
i am using ro/di water from my local water store till i can get my ro/di unit set up. so i am pretty sure its not coming from the top off water
