    Some electrical conversions.

    If you use the conversions below, you can come up with an estimated kWh usage.
    Cost per 12hour days for lighting. Add up all your wattage and estimate monthly costs of your entire system.
    kWh Day Month
    $0.05 $0.60 $18.00
    $0.06 $0.72 $21.60
    $0.07 $0.84 $25.20
    $0.08 $0.96 $28.80
    $0.09 $1.08 $32.40
    $0.10 $1.20 $36.00
    $0.15 $1.80 $54.00
    $0.20 $2.40 $72.00
    $0.25 $3.00 $90.00

    watts=volts*amps
    amps=watts/volts
    1amp=120watts@120volts
    30 amp line capacity=3,600 watts (30*120)
    20 amp line capacity=2,400 watts (20*120)
    15 amp line capacity=1,800 watts (15*120)

    1 gallon = the following:
    3.785 L (liters)
    3,785 cc (cubic centimeter)
    3,785 ml (milliliter)

    1 liter = the following:
    1,000 milliliters
    1,000 cc
    0.264 gal
    35.28 oz. (weight)
    33.8 fluid oz.
    2.25 lb
    1 kg water

    Other conversions
    cc = ml
    drop = 1/20 ml with common liquids that have the consistancy of water
    ml = 20 drops
    tsp = 5 ml
    tbsp = 15 ml
    fl.oz = 30 ml

    Aquarium capacity = L*W*H(inches)/231
    (liters) = L*W*H (cm)/1,000
    (liters to gallon) = *0.264

    Parts per thousand (0/00 or ppt) = the following:
    ml/L3.8ml/gal
    3.8gm/gal
    gm/1,000gms
    gm/kilogram (Kg)
    gm/2.2lbs.

    PPM parts per million = the following:
    mg/L
    3.8mg/gal
    gm/cubic meter of water
    ml/1,000 L

    1 percent solution = the following:
    38gm/gal
    38ml/gal
    1 oz./3 quarts
    10gm/L
    1gm/100 ml
    10ml/L

    1:1,000 solution = the following:
    1ml/L
    0.1gm/100ml
    3.8 gm/gal
    3.8 ml/gal
    0.13 oz/gal

    Centigrade or Celsius = (F-32)*5/9
    Farenheit = (C*9/5)+32

    Some alkalinity conversions for quick use.

    Reef parameters and recommended/desired levels.

    Salinity/specific gravity-1.025ppm or 35ppt
    temp.-78-82
    PH-8.1-8.3
    Ammonia/NH[SUB]3[/SUB]-0 Should be undetectable
    Nitrite/NO[SUB]2[/SUB]-0 Should be undetectable
    Nitrate/NO[SUB]3[/SUB]-0 Acceptable at higher levels in a reef setting @20ppm and 50ppm in fish only.
    Phosphate/PO[SUB]4[/SUB]-0 should be less than .03ppm

    Magnesium/Mg-1400ppm This one affects the next 2 readings/levels.
    Alk/dKH/KH-7-14. See chart above for conversions.
    Calcium/Ca-380-500ppm

    All looks good. Thanks again Casey. The only addition I would make is the 20 drops per ml. That is true if the liquid has the consistancy of water. Thicker than water preparations carry a less than 20 drops per ml relationship.

    Thanks for the reply John. It is more for a general reference than the "nitty gritty"...

    Can we call it a 'Conversion Chart?'
    'Relationship Chart' made me think of something else. :)
