Default Can't find my chart

OK I got the liquid testings and dumped the dipsticks. Here is what I got.

Water is .023 gravity
Ammonia NH3/NH+4 = .50ppm
High Range PH = Between 8.0-8.2
Nitrate (NO-2) = 0ppm
Nitrate (NO-3) = 20ppm
Calcium 460

Is this a good setup? or is something too high/low?

Water changes are every 2-3 weeks and using RO to substitute for evaporation

UPPPPPDDDDAAATEEEEE 8/12

went to the fish man and he set me up with Purigen "ultimate filtration". He also turned me onto Coral vital to wake the green polyps and Fiji mud. Guys have any inputs on these products? He claims this should end the ammonia and Nitrates/nitrites problem along with water changes.

How old is this tank ? Is it cycled?
your ammonia should be zero as well as nitrates!
your calcium is good and the ro water is good too

You need to find out why you have that level of ammonia in your tank ie is there something dead??
try running some activated carbon and that should help lower the nitrates as well as small but frequent water changes.
hope this helps
matt

I am running Carbon. Last week I pulled my dead lobster(about 3" long) out but that was before the 15 gallon of my 125g tank. That guy stunk. Try to do water changes every 2-3 weeks. I will look for something to bring the ammonia down as well as others. I also monthly change my carbon (going on 2 months) I use 6 cups of carbon. I have read from 5-7 cups of carbon is good so I split the difference. This is kept in the sump. That tank has be running since April. I think cycling is done no?

What size is your tank & how much LR do you have...sounds to me like your still cycling. Something killed your lobster. Was probably the ammonia.

Keep up frequent water changes and test daily. Got to get that ammonia down to 0.0.

Thanks all, I keep ot posted. Wondering if the lobster that was possibly in there for 2-3 days is what made the ammonia go up? I also learned I was not adding the iodine while the lobster was in there. How do you know when you are done cycling. It has been 5+ months? I know the smart butt answer is when stuff stops dying, but I was looking for a bit more in depth answer.
