| Calcium Supplementation With Dowflake I read a Randy Holmes-Farley article Chemistry and the Aquarium about preparing a two-part additive for to increase Ca and Alkalinity.
I attempted to find the calcium chloride at Home Depot that he refers to called Dowflake, and they don't have it. After some Google searches, I'm no closer to finding any.
Does anyone know where I can find some of this stuff? Is there an alternative form of calcium chloride I can use?

| Please keep in mind that the chemical make up of the stuff has changed to include (I think I remember correctly) boron in such concentrations that it would be harmful to your inhabitants. The manufacture has confirmed the elevated levels. There is no doubt it will harm your tank.
Please make sure you have the old stuff if you do get some. The information is floating around on the net. Unfortunately, I don't think making the 2 part with the products cited is a viable option any longer. |

| Thats how I got mine. I'm a mason by trade and I bought 10 bags when I heard the recipe is changing.
I dont know if they would have them in FL. When I worked down there we never added Calcium to our mix. Infact now there getting rid of it and going to NCA. |
