Bulk Ferric Oxide

So, I went and traded in some problem fish today and got a trade across for the new fish I wanted, short story, I bought some Ferric Oxide, fine granular...cost me $30 for 9 oz. Way expensive...and to think I use to use Rowa Phos!

Anyhow, you guys think this is safe?

The savings are there but you need to buy in bulk

the same amount of effort goes into weighing and packaging QTYs of less than a pound so they price accordingly

if you had got 3 or 4 lb or even more, then you can start making serious savings versus the Rowa product

if I am not mistaken Rowa Phos is made out of the same thing. Yes it is safe and effective.

 

Safe, buy from Bulk Reef Supply $40 for 2LBS. Gets better as you buy more.

 

Unfortunately, iron is expensive to begin with, even moreso when it needs to be purified before it rusts.

 

Good tip! I would have saved a ton. I'm growing tired of expensive chemicals and elements that my reef requires. I better start buying in bulk. Cheaper by the dozen right!?

 

Even better if you could organize a group buy.
