Default baking soda for buffer

Hi again:

Heres a intresting thread I found tonight about baking soda and cooking it in the oven to make washing soda.

I think it is a bit harder to find tho... And purity is a question...I don't think they need list ingredients on washing soda as it is not really a food item, where baking soda is a food item so all ingredients must be listed..right?

You are right BL..I think the Arm and Hammer Washing soda is pretty pure though...if you can find it..I gave up trying to get it locally but have found it on the internet fairly cheap. If I ever expand my tank situation I will consider using it as most of the 2 part system are not cheap!!

Ah! I didn't realize it (washing soda) was hard to find in some areas. I guess there are advantages to living in the midwest. Pickling Lime and Washing Soda are always available!
