Maybe your doing too many water changes? Do you run a filter, has anything died in the tank? I wouldn't be too worried if it's lowering, I had a spike after my initial cycle and the only fish that died was a clown but he wasn't doing good to begin with. Just keep an eye out for your perameters rising!
Anything else going on in the tank that you can tell us about that may have caused an ammonia spike? Is this your first fish added, how long has the tank been established? Are your test kits old and what brand? Maybe get your LFS to hold the fish there until things settle and get them to test your water. _________ 20g
