yellow watchman???

Will a watchman goby do okay in a tank with crushed coral? I've read they do best in sand but is it okay to have them in crushed? Thanks for the time.

I would not be to worried about it. In nature matchman gobies will usually pair up with pistol shrimp. The pistol shrimp make little homes in pretty coarse substrate. I have one, without a pistol shrimp, and it usually hides in the rock...

It might be happier in the sand, but it should be ok. You could always get a little bit of sand and place it in the part of the tank where he ends up hosting. Kind of like a house warming gift.

i think he would be fine. creatures adapt and overcome pretty good.if theres live rock he will probably find a cave even without a pistol shrimp.but like what was said they do very well with pistol shrimp.

Biggest thing to watch for with a Yellow Watchman, is making sure they get enough to eat.

Being quite shy, they will tend to hide out during normal fish feeding time when others in feeding frenzy.

Am sure now, that the couple I once had starved to death, because they just did not get enough food.

I would "target feed" this goby. As Omard said, they are very very shy and will starve. This would be the best way to ensure that they do get food...

they eat regular pellets and some flakes.do you have a lid on your tank?they are known for their acrobatic skills out the tank.
