Default white blotches on my manderin

i have noticed that my manderin has white patchs on him that look like the color has just dissapeared. they appear on different spots and at different times but seem to go away after a fea hours only to have them re-appear somewhere else. is this a form of camaflogue? by the way, i am VERY lucky as {s}he almost immidatly accepeted frozen brine shrimp, daphnia and chopped up shrimp. {s}he is now one of the most aggressice eaters in my tank!

Most likley just a sore or scrape on it .. They seldom have parasite issues like ich infact they don't have that to worry about..

they secrete poisens through their skin. Like tangster said, they rarely get parasites, because trying to get bite the mandarin is like suicide. Thats why they are rarely picked on in tanks/wild. I have one and thought that it was an undertaking to have such a beautiful fish, but as i have learned, if you can feed it. you can keep it.

it doesn't look like a disease it literally looks like drops of bleach have been randomly dropped on the fish. white patches with no color or pattern and then a few hours later, they are gone from those places but ar on others. i am not home in the afternoon and notice them the most in the morning just after the lights come on. that is why i thought it may be some kind of color changing camaflogue. anyone else have any ideas of what it could be? definatly NOT ich or a fungal disease
