What is it and how do I get rid of it?

My convict damsel has had this white/gray growing slowly in it's eye. Can anyone ID it? and tell me how to gert rid of it? He still eats and swims around great, so I don't think it affects him too much. Top pic is the affected eye, the bottom pic is the other(good) eye. If those aren't good enough I'll try to get better. Thanks ya'll!

I dunno if this is it, but is a possibility therefore take all precautions, especially if he/she has a lot of tank mates

Looks like a cataract. How long have you had the fish? My orange toadfish years ago developed cataracts and soon starved to death cause he couldnt see to eat.

That's what I thought! A VERY long time...4+ years. When I got that fish it was half the size it is now. It eats, swims, and acts like normal. The gray started about a month ago and it's very, very slow to grow. It started on a small section of the middle colored part and half covered half the pupil. There is an outer rim, then the color, then the black(pupil)

Thats what it sounds like it has. 4yrs is a long time for a damsel.

Well cool! I guess I can keep fish alive and healthy afterall! LOL Luckily, right now it's just on his left eye. I'll try to get clearer pics after my batteries charge. Thanks!
