 |  What can I feed my yellow eyed Tang
I recently got a Yellow eyed tang, and he doesn't apear to be eating the vegi cubes I put in for him. He also will not eat romaine lettuce. I do however see him eating algae off all the rocks. I have heard some Tangs will eat peas, is this a good food for him, and do you have any other ideas for him to eat as I am a little worried not enough algae to keep him full. |

You should probably try some nori. A much more natural food for them.
Rubberband a sheet to a rock and drop it in the tank. | |

Some times I drop about a dozen frozen peas in my tank and my yellow eyed tang and foxface will chow down. I first started feeding them some dried sea weed placed in a feeder clip. Now they will eat anything green in the tank, lettuce, broccoli, seaweed, algea, any and all food preparations. Its crazy! | |

Thanks for the info I tried peas I did'nt see him eat any but some went behind the rock so maybe he did. Funny though my leopard grouper and niger trigger ate a couple. I'm Going to get some nori and give it a try as he's constantly eating algae off the rocks but wont touch the romaine lettuce or veggie cubes, although my Hermit crab went to town on the romaine. | |

Yeah if he's already grazing off the rocks than a sheet of nori rubberbanded to one would be very natural for it. | |

It took about a week or two for my tang to finally get use to the tank and eat from the veggie clip. In the beginning he would just nibble on the food placed in the tank and dash back in to the safety of the rocks. | |

I got some nori and my tang won't even eat that, I guess I'll stop worrying about him he must be happy eating algae off rocks. | |

I have used Seaweed Selects, Brown and Green Marine Algae Sheets and a Veggie Clip in the past. All the tangs I have ever had loved it! I have tried dried Nori as well, but have had better luck with the Seaweed Selects. Give your Kole some time, he will get used to eating it. Just keep it available. | |

Hunger is a great motivator so keep trying with the lettuce and the nori. Tangs can be finicky when first introduced into an aquarium so keep at it. | |
