| Tank Update hi everyone!! school is over so i went home to chicago for a little while, but i am back at school now, and my computer is once again here for my use. [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]
well here's the news on my tank.
i bought a beautiful purple tang that i had in quarantine for 2 weeks before i added it to my main tank. two days after adding it, my map angel caught ick. it fought it off, but got it again and died. i was very upset. my clowns and tang are now in quarantine. they are not showing any symptoms, and are eating well, so in a few weeks i will bring them back to the main tank. i bought a blue linkia star that is doing very well. i have had it for about a week now. i am getting a lot of coralline growth in my tank, and i am really happy about that. [smiley=biggrinbounce.gif]
it really bites that my angelfish died. i think i will add a personifer or an annularis angel when everything in my tank is stable in a few months. otherwise, all is well. my eel has found that he likes the taste of blue-legged hermits, but other than that, everything is good. oh, my blenny died from the ick also. i was very upset. i lost both of my favorite fish in one day!!!
p.s. are black dots on a skunk cleaner shrimp normal?

| Re: Tank Update [glow=Red, 1, 75%]Hey Roger,
Good to see you back! Sorry to hear about your angel. That happens sometimes when you introduce a new fish. Stress causes one of the fish to catch ich. Again, sorry it died.
As for your cleaner shrimp, sounds like he needs to molt. Sometimes, when it's been a while since mine's molted, he will have little specks on him. It is usually algae.
Anyway, I'll address your issues in more depth tomorrow. I'm beat, and need some sleep. But, I'll be back in the morning, and we'll talk.
See ya then![/glow]

I'm back. [smiley=grin3.gif] You don't have any damsels in that tank, do you? I can't remember, and you don't mention them. I just thought I'd ask.
You have your clowns and tang in a QT. Are you treating them with anything? Just remember, if you are treating them with anthing that has copper in it, DO NOT allow any of that water to enter your main tank. It would be disastrous. [smiley=shocked2.gif]
I like both of the angels you are talking about. Of course, I prefer the Personifer, but that's only because it has been a favorite of mine for some time. The Blue Ring Angel (Annularis) is also a beautiful and hardy angel. And would do well in your tank.
I would wait more than "a few months" though. Both of the angels you are talking about prefer 'Mature' tanks. That is, tanks that have been set up for a while. Usually, that means about 2 years, but I know you can't wait that long. [smiley=pissed.gif] If you waited about six months, you tank would be close to a year old. I think that the angels would fare MUCH better at that time.
Sorry about your blenny. Fish with small scales are pretty much doomed if/when they get ich. I've lost one or two myself that way. It sucks. [smiley=furious3.gif]
Anyway, again, good to have you back. Don't be a stranger!!! Keep us posted!!! [smiley=deal2.gif] [smiley=smart.gif] [smiley=laughing016.gif] [smiley=thumbs_up.gif][/glow] |

| Re: Tank Update i am not treating with anything right now. just observing. i think i will wait on the angel for a long while, because i am also considering getting a trigger instead. one of the peaceful ones like a crosshatch or blue throat. |
