| The reason it causes an algae bloom is because its anti parasitic as well as an antibiotic.

| i've got a clown tang, and a yellow tang, in my 210gal reef.
this morning i noticed some white spots on the yellow. he does'nt seem to be swimming around as much. he is eating, but not as much as usual.
i added some of the 2 part marine max, and added garlic to the food.i hope it clears up. |

| Sounds like the begining of ick. Just keep on feeding it garlic and some vitamin enriched foods. | I can only imagine that the 120lt tank is just to small to sustain Tangs bye the time you add all your live rock your probly more like 23-25gal and thats just plain too small.
Your freinds tank its like a 55gl and I have 2 tangs in mine hippo and yellow as for sails, powders and other of the like they are known to only do well in tanks75-90gl+ so for you that would be around 300ltrs thats 3x your .
But who knows maybee you will have sucsess
good luck to you !!
All the others with ich its just one of thoes thinks that tang keepers have to deal with
I would advise to anyone that wants to keep an assortment of tangs to start your collection with the more hardy tang thenintroduce to the more sensitive tangs as its not uncommon for a new tang to cause a ich out break in a tank even if QTed and you dont want your sensitive fish going throu outbreaks each time you introduce a new fish. _________ http://www.3reef.com/forums/image.ph...ine=1200113573
