Sleeper gobie

Hi all i just went to the LFS and picked up a sleeper gobie .

all is good at the moment .

the cleaner shrimp have already given him a once over.
Anything special that i should know about these fish ??
I have some nice crappy substrate(ie algae) for him to clean so i hope he works out well!!!

I love them. You can also keep them as a group and they will stay together.

Assuming you're talking about a golden headed sleeper goby, they don't eat algae

I've never been able to keep them long term myself. Not sure if it's because of their nutritional requirements or what but I haven't had one live longer than 6 months or so in my tanks.

yes it is the golden headed sleeper .. hes a bit skinny but this morning hes started to fill a bit.. he dont eat algae damn....hes been munchin on the back wall that is full of algae might be a vegetarian sleeper ......lol who knows

I was able to get mine to eat mysis shrimp but if any other fish came around they would all hide in their burrow forcing me to squirt food directly into their home.

I've had mine for about a year now and he seems pretty healthy. He doesn't seem intimidated by anyone in the tank and feeds on mysis shrimp. He also keeps the sand clean but...my complaint is that he moves the sand from under my rock and drops it on my corals. He is very cool and always draws the attention of whoever is looking at the tank.
