|  six line wrasse, hard to feed?
I was thinking about purchasing a six line wrasse for a FOWLR tank. I have been reading up on it and many reviews say that they are hard to feed initially . Is this true? Have people who have/have had a six line wrasse found this too be true? Also, on a side note, I know some wrasses require deeper substrate, does this one? |

When I first added mine to the tank he was yes, I resorted to thawing out some frozen brine shrimp and squirting a little in the tank so he'd have something to munch on. But eventually he got hungry I'm sure and realized that the flake food that my yellow-tail goes nuts for was good. It took a day or two though, not gonna lie I did worry a little bit but as I said they get hungry I'm sure so they will eventually loosen up and dig in to whatever you feed your current fish.
As far as substrate goes mine rarely even messes with it, but instead he's a very active swimmer. He's constantly moving around in and out of cracks etc. A lot of fun to watch and a great addition to any tank  Best of luck if you end up getting one!

Feeding never a problem with mine.
Spends much time searching rock for own food and regularly eats anything else put in tank.
Substrate not an issue with Sixline.
One of the coolest fish you can add to tank.

I agree with Omard, Mine rarely eats what I put out for the rest of the tankmates, with the exception of brine shrimp. Feeding time he disappears. Its funny that you mention the feeding, b/c I never see him eat but he has a big belly. Kind of looks like a Sixline Santa Claus.  | |
