semi-aggresive and the 55g

I currently have a volitan lion, sf eel, and a humu trigger that I am waniting to put in the 55 once it is cycled through. The lion and the trigger are only 3" now and I know they will get alot larger. The snowflake is 8". I have read and re-read on what tank size they require and get conflicting opinions. My husband wants a goblin scorpionfish to add as he is into the strange and aggressive. The trigger is not a "have to keep" as the LFS, in the city where he works, sold him the humu to make a quick buck. I'm still fuming about that ! Will the lion, eel and goblin work in a 55g? Those are the only fish I was going to put in there. As time goes by I will upgrade to a larger tank but wanted to know how long can I keep them in there comfortably ?

Im sure they'll work for a little while, but they grow fast and will soon out grow that tank. So I would be looking for something a lot larger.

Thats alot to ask from a 55 really Not so much the actual size but the low volume of water will really require some serious mechanical filtration.and then a god sump with bio balls to help increase to 0'2 and get the cycle broken down fast as possible. You will have some large messy meat eaters in there

It will work for now. Do frequent water changes and don't over feed. How long will it be before you upgrade? If the fish get too large you can always trade them in for smaller specimens. Plan on a minimum tank size of 125g.
