Scissortail Dartfish The scissortail Dartfish is a member of the gobie family. They are closely related to the firefish. A beautiful light blue head changes to a dark blue rear half, with striking yellow accents on the fin edges. The tail flares wide, giving the scissor appearance.
They are a very shy fish, as mine hides in the reef, coming out mostly at feeding time, and somewhat just before lights out. It readily accepts any food I feed, including brine shrimp and flakes. It needs to be in a tank with other passive fish.
The fins stay straight out, making not only a brilliant display, but by being located on the rear half of the long, skinny fish, gives it the apperance of a dart, hence the name.
Realitively uncommon, it is not very expensive. I got mine for $40. _________ 90 gal reef
