Are there any reef safe puffers? The DT at my LFS has a porcupine puffer but its in a 400 gallon reef. Im mainly looking at the Porcupine or maybe a longhorned cow fish. Best place and cheapest place to get these fish?

Last I checked all puffers are generally not reef safe... However There might be some out there that are more safe then others. That or they are just darn lucky

As for Cowfish- They tend to be more safe, eating tubeworms and smaller inverts and such

Hmm well this is right off of LiveAquaria.com's PPuffer page.
The Porcupine Puffer needs a varied diet of meaty foods including; squid, krill, clams, and hard shelled shrimp to help wear down their ever growing teeth.

How much did you pay for him? One large one at my LFS is going for $200! Will one do ok in a 53 gallon tank it has just a yellow tang and a bicolor angel and about 19 corals

In general, sharpnose puffers (ex. valentini puffers) are somewhat reef safe.
