|  pyjama cardinal
hello all im considering a yellow pyjama caridinal , a couple of questions
do they eat small crusteacean like shrimp etc
is my tank to small ? 35gallon

I've had a couple of PJs and they don't seem to be much of a hassle.They do like company,2 or more,and they just seem to hang in the water column.Don't do much at all actually.Hadn't noticed any missing crusties. | |

Hello Matt! Pajama's and Bangaii's may go after ornamental shrimp, you just have to watch them. They are a great first marine fish as they are fairly hardy and will do well as long as they aren't housed with more boisterous fish. Maybe try the blue-barred or blue streak cardinalfish...they will not harm any of your inverts!

I'll go so far as to say I guarantee any Cardinal will eat your belove Banded shrimp.. Thats its job in nature. And as mentioned once they drop and separate and its mouth is large enough to grab it then poof shrimp all gone. Thats their Job in nature and why they tend to hang around Dock pilings where shrimp like to hang ..They keep the shrimps numbers under control.
