thanks Birdlady.....and Jason...I'm lucky, the only one I need to convince is myself The only problem is right now I don't have room for another tank...I'm thinking tho Maybe I'll turn the 55 freshwater tank into a FOWLR. Or I could always put a bigger tank where that one is.....

It's great to hear of a good news ICH story :-)

Be patient though, the fish needs to be quarantined for about 6 weeks.

You might also consider putting some PVC drainage pipe in the tank to give the fish a place to call home :-)

John..thanks for the suggestion..I think I'll do that. He looks so lonely just swimming around in an empty tank. I'm not going to rush this fish as I don't want to endanger my others. The six weeks is about right, if he makes it...

I think the biggest mistake people make is that of impatience. *I'm pretty sure that the copper treatment only works on the larvael stage of the parasite and not while the parasite is actually living and feeding on the fish.
Which is why we need to wait for more than one life cycle of the ICH to make sure it is eradicated.

More than happy to be corrected if the above is incorrect, but that is my understanding

John

I think you are totally correct, John....but, I may not have to worry about that..I just checked on the tang and he's not looking very good. I gave him a small amount of food and he had quite a bit of trouble swimming to get it. I felt so bad for him, I almost wanted to give him a little push....It's funny how earlier he looked so much better. Well, we'll see what morning brings.....

well guys...bad news..the tang didn't make it :'( Only thing is at least I can say I tried. It's too bad he hadn't been treated with something earlier, maybe he would have had a better chance...
