Cool Porcupine Puffer Fish question

I wanted to get a small Porcupine Puffer fish (2 to 4 inches). I just wanted to know if kept feed on a regular basis would this small puffer fish bother my clown fish or corals. Does any one have any experance with these fish in a reef tank. I also was planning on getting a clam in the future.

I think it will eventually eat the clown fish....if not right away. My experience with puffers is that they eat everything in site.

your best bet if you really want to keep this fish, is to set up an FO tank just for the puffer. they will eat anything they can but a positive note they tend to gain almost "dog-like" qualities (begging for food, perk up when you are near).

he may go after the clam. keep in mind puffers have a beak on them that needs to be trimmed. keep sutming in there diet like clams or hard shelld to keep that beak trimmed. some puffers have had beaks grow so much they cant open there mouth and cant eat. also have a variety of foods for it they can and will get bored if they eat the same thing every day. i use to have a green spotted puffer until i went all salt but have read as much info on them as i could on different puffers and thats some of the info i had found out. he used to nip on the rock and he loved crayfish. i use to feed him meal worms to by hand he would coem up and do a little dance when he knew he was gettin a meal worm
