Mdeth: If you didnt pay over 20 bucks apiece for them, then I wouldnt worry about it. My ocellaris clowns are 19.99 down here, and my true purc was 22.00, lol. Everyone is always saying how true purcs are so much more, but I can handle 2 bucks,
. From the look of yours though, they do look false. 99% of true purcs have alot more black on the body. The stipes are thicker, and the body shape is alittle different. I know my true purc is more of a bright yellow orange, but they come is bright orange, red, black, ect... My ocellaris(the female in the pic) is a burnt rusty color. But under the dark body color you can see the black stipes are small, and the body shape is alittle smoother. My purc is kinda stubby, lol. Alot of LFS get them confused, or lable them as wrong. Mine was labled purcula clown, and it is a false ocellaris clown. Kinda confusing, but they are still very beautiful fish. I wish I could find ocellaris clowns that were that color. Good luck with them, and hopfully they will pair up nicely!!
