Question Out of Curiosity...

Has anyone been hit with a foxface's venomous spines. I just bought one, he is gorgeous but now I am afraid to put my hand in the tank. I heard they are excellent at eating hair algae, I'm just a little nervous now to do any maintenance in my tank.

Tangster just got zapped last week when feeding the fish but besides just a sting that lasts a little while, there were no ill effects. When I added the fish to the tank, I took it out of the bag with my hands (prefer this method to using a net) and didn't get stung at all. They really don't want to sting you so they'll avoid it at all costs.

Matter of Fact I just had ours to spike me last week when I was feeding them.. He /it was so much in a hurry and defensive at feeding time and I poked him or he poked me ? But Don't believe all you read and or hear It to me is less then a bee sting and a little spot .. Just hold it under some warm water .. And a Vinegar dip would not hurt (: I just let mine be Like I said to me its about like a bee sting
We put ours and the Rabbit also in the tank by hand as I do all my new additions .. Never use a net..

Thanks guys for all your help. I was really concerned. I was afraid that I would be making a trip to the emergency room if I got hit.
