| New Tang Question Hi all,
Currently I have a Kole Tang and a Sailfin Tang in my 75. My LFS said the sailfin would be fine but after much reading I have decided to take it back because it will get too big. Another Store had a beautiful Powder Brown so I couldn't resist and picked him up after I read up on them, I know they are risky fish. They were going to trade for the sailfin but I couldn't catch him today. (Anyone have any tricks to catch him?) Anywho, I just wanted to see what your thoughts are on the kole and the powder brown together? Thanks
Andrew

Craig put this article together a while back it's worth a read Tangs |

| Re: New Tang Question according to everything i have ever read you shouldnt have two tangs in that tank, however i know people who have had 2 in tanks that size and smaller. they did fine. the trick seems to be to get tangs that at least a little different is shape and color.
powder blue and hippo tangs are my favorite.
as far as catching him. i have been told that the fish cant see clear things in the aquarium so you might try chasing him into a big glass or something like that. good luck

| Re: New Tang Question Well, I recently had a spat with ich and lost the kole and the PBT I think the PBT brought it in. I tore everything down and am quariniting the rest of the fish. Now that I have the sailfin he's going back to the store. I still want to keep some tangs. I read that article that's stickied and it said 2 in a 75 would be ok. I'm not sure. I'm thinking of just getting 1. I am set on the powder brown or blue (I am going to quarintine all fish from now on) Can I keep safely in the 75? Also, would a yellow or atlantic blue be a possibility with it? They have the different body shapes. Not getting one for a while because it takes a while for the ich to cycle out.

| Re: New Tang Question Sorry for your loss , I just lost my coral angel the same way. Looks like I'm not the only one to learn the hard way! I'll be quarantining all of my fish too from now on!

| Re: New Tang Question Powder brown or powder blue (or regal blue or whatever the one that is not the Hippo tang) you will likely have ich coming and going in the tank on a fairly regular basis.
I would not mix an atlantic species with pacific species due to the fact that they are exposed to differing pathogens and being exposed to the other ocean's pathogens may prove difficult to keep the fish healthy. I am not saying it cannot be done, but why add another variable.
Yellow tangs can be more aggressive. I like the Kole tangs
