I added a coral beauty dwarf angel to my tank 5 days ago. He is swimming around, being very active and constantly grazing on the sand, live rock, and glass.  However, it doesn't have much interest in any type of packaged food I add (which so far has been frozen brine shrimp and some formula one and two flake food).  Should I be concerned about getting him to eat the packaged food? My tank has been going for about a year and has a pretty healthy live sand bed and live rock, and the other livestock consists of a scooter blenny, two sally lightfoots and assorted small crabs and snails.
    Thanks, Jason

    Hey Jason, what's up. [smiley=smoking.gif]
Great fish, you might have better luck with the frozen Formula foods, thaw some in a shot glass and throw it in. My Beauty in my 40 loved that stuff.

Or try some Spirulina or Romain lettuce. Or some of that CYCLOP - EEZE frozen copepod food. That's supposed to be good.

I wouldn't be too concerned yet, you will probably win it over on something. They can graze for ages on a bunch of live rock and algae.

I gotta come down and see that tank one of these days. ;) :)

you can also try some dried nori or fresh sea lettuce. the nori can be bought in most grocery stores or anywhere to get japenese food supplies, or some fish stores sell sea lettuce by the bunch pretty cheap maby grab some of that

I do believe everyone has just about covered all that you can feed a CB,,,
They are one of the hardiest of the Dwarf Angel Family and will do well, just give it some time to adjust...
    Good Luck Jason...

I had one a few years ago that wouldn't eat packaged foods, so I started it out on LIVE brine. Once it gets a taste for that, your troubles are over. It will switch over to the froven stuff really easy.

    Good Luck!!!!!

Well it looks like I found a winner. Over the past couple of days it has really taken to frozen Formula 2 broken up into fine pieces. Thanks everyone!

I have found the use of garlic by Kent as an additive to the food usually gets my newcomers to at least test the food. I also would like to hear everyones opinion on the Formula One products, I use Lifeline instead of formula one. The reason being if you desolve them side by side the formula one is much more Gelatin filler

Ditto on the Kent Garlic, fish go crazy when mixed with frozen brine shrimp. . And makes your entire house smell!
