I've been thinking about dividing the tank and doing that, the LFS has a nice looking striped angler (not sure the exact species) that looks like it doing pretty well. I think i might hold off and wait for a solid red or solid black one to come in. Or of course maybe for a sargassum angler

. If my refugium wasnt lit 24/7 i'd use that for a grow out tank but that would really stress the fish i'm afraid. Speaking of refugium i better check on it, i've been seeing signs of red algae starting to grow in there.
There are some similar looking fish off the coasts of the US that i'd like to try to keep but some get rather large but they'd look awesome on display...this is the first time i've been actually somewhat sad that i dont live by the ocean.

PS last night i started to see long strands of red slime algae on him...i wonder if he'd eat little hermit crabs....
