| Mono's do extremely well in saltwater. I have kept them for years. Their coloration will improve as well. I have kept both types of Mono's in SW. I've been thinking about getting another one recently, but with so many beautiful SW fish its hard to justify getting one. _________ 75g reef with Nova Extreme 8 bulb HO T-5 lighting, refuge, Remora skimmer, DSB, Seio powerheads, Acro's, LPS corals, assorted zoo's & mushrooms, Yellow Tang, Maroon Clown, Blue Cleaner Goby , Cleaner, Fire and Sexy Shrimp, Coco Worm, T.Crocea Clam, Derasa Clam

| thank you Raven. I already have a Coral Beauty, Yellow Tang, LMB, 2 clowns and a 6 line. I like the shimmery silver of the fish. I love Lookdowns, but my tank is too small for them. |

| Hi Kimmy,
I have a Mono Argentus (silver w/ yellow dorsal fin), and a Mono Sebae (silver w/ vertical black stripes). I've had a brackish tank for years, and always had monos & various scats.
If you keep more than one of the same species (ex: 2 mono sebaes), they get very territorial. Most people say to keep them in odds, but I found if you just have more than 3-4, the nipping is dispersed among all fish.
Every time I've kept an Argentus w/ a Sebae, they don't nip at eachother, no matter the size. Best thing to do... introduce monos at same time to your tank.
As for SW, my monos have thrived. They stay clear of coral, and are very curious of hermit crabs. Only problem I've had was recently the Sebae killed my new cleaner shrimp!!! The shrimp hung out a whole day, cleaned my yellow tang, ruby scat, a bit of the Argentus... but when it was the Sebae's turn in line, he attacked it!! Since then, the mono sits up against the LR area where he killed the shrimp, and won't leave it... weird. Been there for a week, and will be leaving the tank VERY soon. BAD MONO!!!!

| I also kept both Mono's with my African tank years ago. They did well in the high pH of the african tank. The Sebae got huge and the other fish stayed away from him. |
