Its perfectly fine with those particular species. If you were to throw in a Tomato Clown or Maroon Clown, all heck would break loose.

As for your clowns and most clowns of same species... There is whats called "males in waiting". There will be one female and one dominant male. There could be 100's of males sharing the same area that are less dominant. They are waiting on something to happen to one of the dominant pair. If the female dies, the dominant male will step up and morph into the female and then the next in line male will become the dominant male.

usually you don't want to do it in you own tank, especially with more aggressive variaties such as the maroon clown but there are always exceptions. Some of the compatability isses are determined when you add a fish.

Lfs's do that alot, put same type of fish in same tank, especially if they move em fast, and you don't really notice cause you're just passin thru, but if you watch for a while they're fighting.

No need for that,

One of the secrets to introducing a newly acquired clown to others it to completely confuse the others or existing clowns. To introduce chaos to the tank by moving things around especially if the current clowns are hosting something that you can move. If this is done it sometimes confuses them long enough that the new clown can grab some territory and find a hiding place so it doesn't get the crap beat out of it.

Being that you just recently moved them you might have gotten away with it if you had bought it right away. But they have been in the tank long enough now to cause trouble. But one advantage that tank is pretty large they should all be able to grab some territory and be happy. It is a crap shoot! good luck.

Seems to me I just posted this information somewhere else..............
