    Hi Everyone,
I was wondering what people thought on this issue.

I have an Ocellaris Clown Fish (less than a year old) in a small 29 gal tank. I am upgrading to a new 54 gal tank. I was hoping that in this new tank I would be able to have clown fish, anemonae, and possibly have my clown fish breed. I really like yellow stripe maroon clowns, so I wanted to breed these.

Is it possible that since technically this is a new tank I will be starting, if I add a mated pair of YS Maroon Clowns and my old Ocellaris clown, that they all would get along since they all would be new to the tank, hence not be so territorial?

I know that some times things don't always go as planned (such as if they host or not), but maybe this would be a big no-no.

Is mixing these species okay? Is it best to just keep one type of clown in one tank?

    Thank you for your input!

Is mixing these species okay? I'm afraid not.

Is it best to just keep one type of clown in one tank? Yes unless you have a much larger tank

    Thanks, amcarrig.
What would you recommend if I want to mate my little O. Clown with another Ocellaris?

Should I make sure that the one I buy is bigger?
Is it best if they are introduced to the tank at the same tank?
