My Maroons eat just about anything I put in tank.
I think they like a variety...so that is what they get (as well as my whole tank). Both carnivore and vegi flake food, frozen stuff (bloodworms, shrimp, fish mash) & some shredded seaweed.
They need different kinds if you want viable eggs and offspring one day.
My female lays eggs about every 8 days or so. But they would never hatch until I fed them different kinds of food. They were first just clear in color. But when I changed diet they are now bright pink/red.
