Default Maroon clownfish

I have a reef tank (75 gal).

I had 2 clowns and a Foxface lo, with a couple of damsels but they got ick. I now only have my Foxface and 1 damsel left.

I have put them in another tank, have decided to keep only 1 pretty fish in the reef tank and nothing else (maybe a friend).

So I went out and got a Maroon clown, female i'm guessing. She (Rosebud) is about 2 1/2 maybe 3" long. I was thinking about adding a much smaller Maroon with her. I know these fish are very aggresive and hard to mate up.
If this won't work I will be happy with just her in the tank.

So what I'm asking is how hard is it to mate these fish up?

All you can do is try, get another Maroon clown and see what happens!

Maroons are the more aggressive clowns, do a search, they are evil! I'm pretty sure that if you add a second maroon, the possibility of your old clown kicking his butt is higher than it choosing him as a pair.

I have a pair in my 120 gal, all I ask my Lfs if they don't get along Could I bring it back. They told me as long it's not all beat up! After a week of squabbling they settle down and swim around with the others. The only way to find out is try it and if it don't work out return it! In the past I have return a few fish or sold the ones that were not model citizens after awhile with other fish. Or buy a mated pair but they are expensive!

if your female is only a few inches long i would think she is still fairly young. i'd say find a male that is somewhat the same length and hope for the best. you'll never know until you try. just keep close tabs on the two and be prepared to seperate them if necessary. i would explain your situation to whomever/wherever you purchase the male from and ask about their policy on returning the fish if it doesn't work out. good luck.
