Default Maroon Clown not eating -- garlic?

I adopted a maroon clownfish a week ago and have not gotten the little guy to eat yet. I've been offering brine shrimp flakes and mysis (which my royal gramma and hermits LOVE), but the clown spits them both out. I've heard that soaking food in garlic can stimulate appetite. How do I go about preparing this? (I'm not ready to buy a commercial supplement yet, so I'd like to make my own from fresh cloves)
Thanks much!

Well when using kent garlic I typically use about 1 drop per frozen cube in a shot glass mixed with salt water to soften up the frozen food. If you are only feeding flakes it may be worth trying frozen foods or the dried pellets (spectrum is a good brand) The Kent Garlic is pretty potent so i'm guessing if your making your own garlic you will need to play around and give it a shot.

I'm trying frozen mysis, but he's spitting those out as well. I was hoping that I could crush up some garlic, soak it in some water, strain the garlic chunks out and then soak the mysis in the garlic water and try feeding. Just wasn't sure if this would work or if there was a better method.

Sounds like it should work to me.
It could also have to do with the stress of a new surrounding.

Possibly stressed from tank set up not to its liking and or other fish. Check water parameters. Everything else ok?!
Try offering other food such as baby brine or formula food.
