Reportedly not likely to eat crabs or shrimp of any size. Will flip over hermits wandering around on sand bed, but no sign of trying to eat.

Fish has a very stubborn attitude. While it acts peacefully towards all other fish, it still lets them know that it is not to be bothered with, not by attacking them, but by just being able to bully his way around. If another fish challenges him, he gets right back up in their face until the other fish backs down. Very important characteristic for any new addition to my tank - have not had much luck adding anything in last couple of years. Only took minutes for my usually aggressive damsels and clowns to lose interest in harassing this newcomer as have with others in past.

Fish definitely a carnivore. Spends allot of time poking around in the sand bed looking for any sand infauna it can catch. A very aggressive and fast feeder.

Gets along just fine with other fish. Usually considered safe for corals, as long as the corals and rocks are large enough or glued down, as mine all are. (at least with my soft corals. (Not sure with SPS - )

I added some small rubble rocks in sand bed for it to flip and play around with. Seems satisfied with that. It will flip any thing light enough in its search for food. It will play with them all day long hoping to find something good to eat under them.

Likes to wallow in sand bed, so might make a big mess in tank with DSB.

Will pick around rock and crevices like a mandarin and probably is why has rep for not being reef safe among many.

Very pretty and quite cheap as far as most colorful wrasses are. Gets more colorful as it ages.

Good candidate for a tank like mine. One that is already populated with aggressive, territorial fish and well established/secured LR.

Would highly recommend that addition to any tank be very carefully considered.

So far love it!
