So I finally found a LFS with a sixline wrasse in stock. They're holding the li'l fella for me until I get there at some point this weekend.
I want to do right introducing this new (and probably last) fish to my tank. I've been doing my homework and it looks like a freshwater dip and an abbreviated quarantine period are recommended for this species. So what say all of you? I've never dipped a fish before, so ANY info on a freshwater dip (temp, pH, duration, etc) would be awesome. And would 2 weeks be an adequate length of time for the QT?
Bonus points for the best wrasse joke...

I have never fresh water dipped a fish and I don't think you should either considering you're going to quarantine it anyhow. Why add extra stress by dipping it

Thank you, Annik...not only for your advice, as always, but also for playing along...no dip for me...

And now that I've got the fish home, I can say: I've never paid $35 for wrasse before...

Yes that small of a tank makes you wrasse look large

Also with a 6 line wrasse as with many so called reef safe fishes never ad one unless you have a exit strategy for it's removal and watch him as he ages ..

I've heard about some sort of wonder fish-remover...Sy-a-nyde, I think it's called...
He's the last fish going in (so I say now) so hopefully he minds his manners...

I hope he does also but I have seen so many Six liners develop a taste for clams and corals I seldom tend to trust amny wrasses myself LOL

I have never dipped a fish or coral for that matter. I am fortunate to not have had a problem thus far...
I have a six-line-Wrasse in my small octocoral tank and it is doing very well. It does fine with the corals/other fish and inverts!!!!
"I have a Wrasse and it won't go away as I am continuously itching and scratching it...maybe it is Poison Ivy!!!! I know that was bad, but I couldn't resist(hahahahehehehhaha)
