| input on a mandarin is it's mouth, output near it's anal fin....
Ok seriously though, their not a super easy fish, they need to be put in a very well matured tank, not a young one.
They can take to frozen/pellet foods BUT plan on them never doing anything but live food, and having to be able to provide them with a rabid amount of pods and brine that are live

| 7 months now.. and I do not have the fuge...but I have a very large pop. of pods
I'm thinking about going under the stand with a filtration system...but I'd like to have a full year of success with the 30 gal before I jump up in size.
What do ya think about running a larger filtration system with the 30 gal? |

| Very difficult to keep. I plan on it someday (after my tank's first anniversary), and only when I have a top notch fuge with much in the way of pods. From what I have read, they need a constant source of food available to them and their diet is very limited. Read up and be careful, otherwise the goby will starve. _________ 90g HW: 20g Sump, ETSS PSw/Mag9, CPR OF/Rio 2100 RTN, MJ AC 2K3 PH's (2800GPH ttl flow), 300W htr, Gnd Prb, Denitrator, UV, PCs: 2x65,4x55 Fish: Ylw Tang, LM Blenny, Hmbg, Y-T, Ylw dmsls, Mrn Clown, Coral Beauty, Red Crs Wrsse. | Mature tank with lots of live rock ONLY!
See: FOTM- May 08' Mandarin Goby, Green Goby (Pterosynchiropus splendidus} - ("Spiny Lobster" wareagle35031)
Not to be confused with: Mandarin Dragonet - Green Spotted Mandarin Goby (Synchiropus picturatus)
Essentially "cousins" with same feeding habits and requirements...Think the "Green Spotted" is usually a tad more expensive.
Cool fish...but please wait till tank matures...at least a year. _________ AG "125," AquaC EV 180, 30 gal sump, "SCWD", 80 lbs LR, CoralSeaLife "Moonlite" Hood, PFO 250W HQI Mini-Pendant (SPS HQI 14000k bulb)

Have never witnessed eating anything but what finds on its own. |
