ive never used it myslf but using liqid garlic and soaking it in food once or twice a week is a good preventive towards ick. ick is a parasite and when the garlic is in the system of the fish the ick repel from the fish jsut like using garlic for dogs and cats for fleas its sort of similar.

ich medicines tend to be very powerful and sometimes can aggravate the condition. I would go the garlic and vitamin c route Anne. If you can feed formula 2 to the patient, he will get better, guaranteed! If my mandarin now eats that stuff, everyone will get hooked on it.

Most ich medications suggest your turn off the skimmer. It will make it overfizz.

for ich if you want it over and done with and the fish healthy fast use quick cure you can get it from walmart or any other fish place use a empty tank with some PVC for hiding spots and one drop for gallon its gone in 2 days heavy copper have has great results with it on a powdertang and they are touchy use that and ive then changed the water every day about 10% then after 2 days run carbon and clean the tank and leave it alone for like 3-4 days if any other signs then do it again but let him sit there in that nice clean water tank and if no sign let them back in i also use that for any other internal para
