| My friend has that one - altho we tend to call it a picasso.
From what i can tell, it is very temperamental, can be soft one moment and then real nasty the next. Its taken chunks out of his other fish and also killed 3 crabs.
Get the niger instead, much more friendly and sociable. _________ |

| I'd worry for the clown. That is a very aggressive trigger. Try either the niger like phoenix said or my personal favorite, the pink-tail trigger.

| Humuhumunukunukuapua'a!!! That's my hometown's state fish!
Anyhows, I had one in a semi-reef tank I had back at home where I kept a few fishes that I caught myself. All I kept in it was a small goldbar wrasse, snails, hermit crabs, and the humuhumu. The humuhumu ended up picking on the crabs and even though it is a gorgeous fish and would come to the front of the glass to greet me when I walked into the room, I decided it would be better back where I got in than in my tank. So I put it back in the ocean. I agree with the posters above me. I think if you have a very big tank and lots of room and most of your other fish are moderate-semi aggressive then it should be okay, but you should really look into the other more tank-friendly species.

| I have no experience with keeping triggerfish myself, but if the clown is hosting an anemone, will the anemone keep the triggerfish away and keep the clown safe, maybe? _________ |

| it's an awesome fish and should get along w/ the fish in your tank. the thing you need to watch out for are inverts and corals, mostly inverts. humas will eat most crabs, shrimp and snails, and will pick at corals and clams
the huma isn't going to try to eat another live fish unless it's starving _________ 75gal hex, 2-40w T12 48", odyssea 48" 4x65w PC's w/ lunars, 50lbs LR, 80lbs LS, gold banded maroon clown, dog faced puffer, juvenile blue angel, 2 dominoes, 1-4 stripe damsel, yellow watchman gobie, lawnmower blenny, mano, purple chromis, striped grouper, mexican turbo, astrea and red foot snails, striped, red and blue legged hermit crabs, coral banded shrimp, white and purple bubble coral(very little), red and green mushrooms, orange gorgonian, candycane Tanks, No Thanks.
