Any ideas about how to remove a Blue Devil that has become a royal pain in the butt. He tortures any fish I try to add and I think that seven dollar menace has cost me quite a few dollars in the 14 months Ive had him I am fed up with his bull%*$! Soooo How can I trap him? breaking apart the tank is not an option..

Go fishing. Seriously. Alot of folks have had luck by taking a small fish hook (file off the barbs though) and going fishing in their own tanks. If that's something you'd like to try, avoid feeding the fish for a few days so that it's hungry enough to take the bait.

Oh boy I've been there. I don't envy you at all. I was able to get him out with a net, but it took weeks.

I do like the fishing idea, though. Any bait and tackle store, or Kmart carries teenie-tiny hooks made for catching bait fish. You could fit a dozen of them on a dime. Next time you have fish for dinner, use a eincy weency chunk for bait. I recommend a Penn Senator deep sea reel, and make sure you use a steel leader on the end of some strong 100 lb. test monofilament line. I hear those damsels are strong fighters. Have a buddy at your side with a bucket of sea water to pour on the reel in the event of heat buildup from line runoff. .

Those fish traps dont work on damsels(IMO) but the fishing does. The only trick to it is not to hook the other fish. Try sabiki's, they have really small hooks.

Matt, you're crazy. Infact, it's irresponsible posts such as yours that give us all a bad name.

Well, I have used the small fish hook method before with great success but I don't think it will work on the damsel . I am going to try the DIY fish trap or maybe a gun .

Fish trap will probably work if you have the time and patience for it. I have a buddy that use the hook and it worked for him. Just like Amcarrig said, don't feed him for a while and let him get hungry.
