| I had the same problem with a nasty little Cherub Angel. We was little but he was constantly harrasing my favorite clown who was twice his size. It finally stressed me out so much, watching this pygmy terrorizing one of my favorite fish. So, I got a wide lipped plastic jug. I cut a small hole near the top of the container, and tied a piece of aquarium tubing, about two feet long throught the hole. I then placed the container in the tank. I started shooting small amounts of mysis shrimp in the container. Every fish in the tank made its way into that container over about a10 minute period. Finally the angel went in and I yanked the container and I had him...So many people talk about using a 2 liter soda bottle but the risk of contaminants leaching from the bottle, plus you cannot remove all of the glue. Good luck... _________ 72 gallon bowed 150lbs LR 60 lbs LS

| i hope you manage to get your Damsel out and re-homed without causing it harm.
PLEASE PEOPLE! stop using Damsels to cycle unless you are going to be content with it as a fish, remember these are living things. |

| be civil people.. it is a living creature i adopted a fiji blue that some one donated back to the store. i never asked why but just did..... in my 12 gallon salt tank he went with my clowns , shrimp, anemones and snails. when i moved to a 65 gallon tank he was the most difficult to remove (with all the live rock out and 2 nets)....
i did two things.. i did not feed any of my fish the night before the move, nor the following morning.......
once all the inhabitants less the damsel were out, i dropped in some live brine shrimp ( yes their natural tendancy to hunt and eat takes over.... ) i caught him with one net easily and put him in the refungium for 2 days where i continued to feed him ( mysin shrimp)......
after two days i scooped him out with a breeder tank and put him in the main tank......
depending on your other fish, you have to get something that will stand up to him once, as my bullet gobie did... he is fine...
i wish you luck, and please the hook or the tape is just too cruel... it is bad enough that people use damsels to seed a new tank rather than use a dead fish ( salt or fresh) from a local pet store.... |
