| How do I catch my fish I have this Christmas Wrasse that folks have said is bad, and I think perhaps he's taken out my peppermint shrimp, and maybe even hurt my clown, so I want to take the guy back to the store (yes, I've already been scolded for the purchase without the prior planning and research). However, I tried catching him tonight with no success - tried luring out with food, "herding" into a net and had no success. He eventually buried himself under the live rock. Was wondering, with the live rock, does anyone have any good suggestions on getting him caught and out without having to dismantle the tank and without stressing the other guys too bad? I've had using a red container somehow in the tank as I guess fish can't see red and I've had putting in a bottle with food and hoping he swims in then yank it up. Any other thoughts?

| Re: How do I catch my fish As far as I know, fish can see red. Now using a red lens on the flashlight to look in at night is another story...that you can do without startling the fish.
As for the removal of the fish....you have two options..
Take out most of the rock and try again to catch him
or
Drain most of the water out, remove the fish, and put the water back in.
Good Luck! (I had to do that twice...I took the rock out, as I did not have anything large enough to contain the water...) _________ I Love My Sig By John Hawkins!!!!!!!!!!!!!

| Re: How do I catch my fish Ended up just luring him with some food to a side of the tank with little rock and got a big net in so he couldn't get back to the rock, then "reeled" him in with a small net. Had to do a bit of tank re-arrangement to do it, but it worked... |
