yeah, I want one of those too. Or maybe a spotted mandarin. They are both so beautiful. I'm very happy that I already seem to have a lot of pods in my tank. But I'll wait until I have about 150 pounds of rock and pods all over it. I'd hate to see one starve ...

The Bottom line is, Mandarin's are hit or miss on whether they will eat prepared food. I know more people that bought one and thought they would work on getting it to feed only to loose it. There has to be enough food to sustain a large Pod population and if it starts to eat prepared food than that is a bonus.
But the most important thing is to ensure you haven't already got a Pod eater in your tank. Even a fish that doesn't primarily eat Pods will pose a threat to a Mandarin.

that's why I will wait "long". I want to make sure I have enough food in there for the mandarin. But then I'll still try to get one that eats other food too.
