Default GHA Eater

What would be a good fish to help out with the Green Hair algae? I've got the LMB for a while now. and he does his part. but i've just got my GHA outburst undercontrol (damn'd canister filter) and would like something to help him out in cleaning it off. I'd rather not have to take the rocks out and peel it off myself.

So what other smaller reefsafe fish would help eat the green hair algae?

Its a 55gal tank. no tangs please. =)

A smaller foxface. Although IMO you would be better served by dumping 4 or 5 mexican turbo snails in there.

yeah. not much on the turbo snails. they just get to big. guess i could always take them out once its cleaned off. but would just rather put a neat new little fish in there that i can enjoy for days to come....

Hermits. i have a few in there. maybe 15 or so. they getting it done, slowly but surly. but...still just like to have a new fish there to help out. =)

Edit: Oh and got a foxface in the larger tank. they are great but i cant seem to find them small enough. he will get to big for the tank and i would rather not have to worry about moving him. they are awsome algae eaters though

Rock Urchins or black from Diver Toms I think the last ones I bought cost me 1.50 each. Voracious algae eaters.

Where is everyone's tanks all of a sudden getting this green hair algae from?
If it's a summer thing, it's not happening in New England.
Ditto on the scarlet hermit crabs though...

I've had a foxface before that would shun GHA. I don't think they are all that great for controlling it. Or should I say, when you are far into your problem. A large turbo will make pretty quick work of it. A meat head if you will, very clumsy though. Can be returned after you are done at a good store.

I take/share a "common sense" approach.
